Give: ASD Charitable Contribution 2020

2020 has been a rollercoaster ride for everyone, but certain populations have been disproportionately affected. The ASD® team couldn't sit back idly and watch the communities who have given us so much suffer through these tough times.

Despite the challenging year, we rallied together as an organization and participated in our annual charitable match.

This initiative began several years ago as a way to embody our core value Give.

It means so much to our team, brings us closer, and humbles us. It serves as a reminder to count our blessings, appreciate all that we do have, and help those who are less fortunate.

This year we selected charities whose efforts are most needed, considering these unprecedented circumstances. They help those who have been most affected by the pandemic.

In North Carolina, we raised money to support The Corner Table. The soup kitchen outreach ministry provides meals with compassion, respect, and dignity. They put a real face on problems like poverty, homelessness, hunger, and unemployment. Donations go towards the soup kitchen, backpack program, and food packaging program.

In Georgia, we selected two charities: Meals by Grace and The nsoro Foundation. Meals by Grace is a food program for children in Forsyth County that have been identified as having a need by the school system social workers. What makes this organization unique is that they deliver the food and supplies so families with limited or unreliable transportation can get help. Donations go towards supplying the children and their family's with daily essentials like food and toiletries.

Our third charity, The nsoro Foundation, provides scholarships for foster children. In most states, foster children "age out" of the system at 18 years old and are unprepared to face life independently. This is why 50% end up homeless by the time they're 20, and 60% go on to be incarcerated. The nsoro Foundation extends a lifeline for those youth, giving them the opportunity to change the course of their life with higher education. Donations go towards academic scholarships and meal plans.

It was another successful year of raising donations for our worthy charities. We can't thank our employees enough for participating. ASD® matched every contribution dollar-for-dollar, and together we raised over $6,700!

These donations were divided among the three charities, and our communities will undoubtedly feel the impact of these efforts. In all the donation will:

  • Feed dozens of in-need community members
  • Provide a week of break bags for 350 kids
  • Award 1.6 semester scholarships

We are forever grateful to have such a generous team here at ASD®. This wouldn't have been possible without all of them. By coming together, we were able to help so many people who need and deserve it.

Thank you.
