[1.5 Minute Read]
“At the end, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished. It’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.” Denzel Washington
The holiday season should be a time of year filled with joy and laughter, but unfortunately for many people that isn’t the case. This time of year can be extra hard for those who are less fortunate. So as you go about your holiday parties, end of the year celebrations, and yule-tide festivities take some time to reflect on how lucky you truly are.
Then think about those who aren’t quite so lucky.
The holidays will be here and gone before we know it, but giving just once during this special time of year may change someone’s life forever. Giving can take many forms – donating to charities, volunteering your time, lending an ear to someone who needs to talk, sharing your strength with someone who is going through a difficult time, or giving a smile to someone who might need a little cheer.
No matter how big or small the act is, give. You never know who’s life could change because of it.
We come from humble roots here at ASD and understand what it’s like to be on the other side. That’s why we actively embrace our core value: give.
This year, ASD matched all employee donations towards Clark Howard’s, Clark’s Christmas Kids program. We were able to buy every item on 43 foster children’s wish lists. We can only hope that this relatively small act will create a memory these children will cherish for a lifetime. Hopefully, once they’re older and on their own, they’ll remember what they were given and do the same for someone else.
There are still plenty of children who will go without this year. If you would like to join our efforts and give to a child in need, please click here to donate.
