Leadership

Robert W. Eskew, RCDD

Founder and CEO

bobhead LeadershipBob Eskew, is the founder and CEO of Automated Systems Design, Inc. (ASD®), a four-time Inc. 5000 company and the leading nationwide solution for custom turnkey information transport systems. Eskew began his career serving briefly in the Army and was awarded an honorable discharge in the winter of 1975. Soon after, he acquired the nickname “clutch” as he began working on the assembly line at General Motors installing clutch pedals. In 1984, he was offered the opportunity to join the management training program and was assigned to the Quality Control department at the Lakewood plant in Atlanta, Georgia.

Eskew stayed with General Motors an additional three years before, leaving and taking a chance on the cabling business. His mother cried and the rest of his family laughed. No one could understand why he would do such a crazy thing! But, it was Eskew’s chance on the cabling business that quickly turned into a nationwide company.  “Our very first customer when I started the company in 1987 was the Internal Revenue Service. There was a very small business in Atlanta, but that one little project led to a large amount of business in three other states,” Eskew says. “We had to learn immediately how to handle that.”

Eskew’s passion for taking chances and innovative business approach has contributed to ASD®’s growth and changed the way that business is typically done in the industry. As the cabling industry changed in the mid-1990s, it was again Eskew’s time to take a chance on the cabling business and offer UTP (unshielded twisted pairing) over the standard coaxial cable that propelled the company to where it is today. Last year, ASD® provided over 4,400 different projects to clients in over 2,250 zip codes. Most recently, ASD® was awarded the distinction of Top Ten Growth Company by Entrex Private Company Index (PCI), based on its 42.25 percent growth between Q3 2008 and Q3 2009.  “Experiencing such phenomenal growth, especially in these economic times, is a great achievement for ASD. We are looking forward to continuing to grow and serve new, as well as long-time, clients across the country in the coming year,” said Eskew. ASD®’s clients include many Fortune 1000 companies including, Allstate Insurance, Education Management, Intergraph Corporation and Unisys.

Today, ASD® manufactures, manages and maintains high-performance iCAT-ITS™ cables and products for copper wiring and iGLO-ITS™ for fiber optic systems. The experienced team at ASD® provides physical infrastructure systems nationwide with one point of contact for all project deployment. Additional nationwide turnkey solutions include structured cabling, audio video systems, VoIP phone systems, IP-based surveillance and access control systems, digital signage, point of sale systems, network moves, adds and changes, wired and wireless networks and National Rollout Services. Kevin Kiziah

President

kevin Leadership

Kevin Kiziah, president of Automated Systems Design, Inc. (ASD®), is charged with continuing to drive the growth of ASD® while maintaining high quality services and products. Combined with drive, innovation and passion for success, Kiziah has been instrumental in increasing ASD®’s growth, making it the leading nationwide solution for custom turnkey information transport systems. Last year, ASD® provided over 4,400 different projects to clients in over 2,250 zip codes.

Kiziah joined the company in 1995 in the sales department with little industry experience. Over the next two years, he developed relationships with some of the nation’s most respected companies, many of which are still clients to this day, including Allstate Insurance and Intergraph Corporation.  In 1997, Kiziah was responsible for opening a branch office in Hickory, North Carolina, and within the following year, he became regional sales manager. Kiziah’s impressive sales reputation continued to grow as he listened to his customers and evolved to meet their expectations. Kiziah was promoted to vice president in 2001, where he was responsible for the daily operations of the company. As the industry changed, it was ASD®’s risky decision to offer UTP (unshielded twisted pairing) over the standard coaxial cable that propelled the company to where it is today.

In early 2010, Kiziah became president of ASD®. From a business that “chased cabling projects,” ASD® has grown 440% since Kiziah came on board. His dedicated work ethic, high level of integrity and customer satisfaction has contributed to his overall growth within the company and industry.

Additional nationwide turnkey solutions include structured cabling, audio video systems, VoIP phone systems, surveillance and access control IP-based systems, digital signage, point of sale systems, network moves, adds and changes, wired and wireless networks and National Rollout Services.
